Hello everyone,
I guess it's time for me to check in. Not a ton of things have been happening that would fascinate most of you. Work has been going well, and I've actually had the opportunity to research and (soon will) pen a few stories. I can't complain about that, I must say. The work has actually been piling on. Now that everyone there knows I don't fully suck (and were shocked that I could copy edit and pick out a lot of errors they missed), they've been handing me all sorts of jobs. I'm not sure that's necessarily good...we'll find out in the long run.
Aside from that I reunited with a few old friends and fellow Canadians on Saturday night. During a mass e-mail conversation I found that Krista Deverson and Jeanine Oliver were heading down to Los Angeles for a week. We decided to hook up for a night of masion-touring and Mel's Diner eating. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of that experience. It was a lot of fun though. I haven't seen Jeanine since high school ended, which is kind of surprising since we were fairly good friends. She's doing well, as is Krista, who I see every so often when I spend time with Hannele. Good times were had by all. Of course I got them lost in the Hollywood Hills, true David Friend-style. It took us about 40 minutes to figure out where we were, ask Starbucks security for directions and then freeway it back to Hollywood & Highland. Nonetheless, it was a little comforting to see a familiar face from Canada.
I also conned Victor into going shopping with me that afternoon, since he was over here to show off his newfound iPod. In true Victor fashion he chased me around with a camera until I was in tears, hiding in the freezer section, gnawing on a frozen chicken strip. Luckily this was the only picture that turned out...
Oh yeah, speaking of Victor's iPod...apparently that freeipods site works -- and it works fast. Which made me think...would any of you have the heart to do one of the easy offers that costs a couple bucks in order to earn me an ipod? You'd have my great thanks and I'd also be willing to reimburse the $1-7 offers they generally hand out. Please! Please!!! Puh-leeeze!!!! If you are interested go here:
http://www.freeiPods.com/?r=20362439 and sign up. Make sure you click that link or it won't use me as your referral. Have a heart, give to the musically needy. After all, I entertained you all with my radio show for two years running. That's gotta be worth something...
I'll be back soon.
