She's a freestyle skier (moguls) who injured her knee during the qualifying round yesterday. I was out of the room for it so I missed out on the details, but apparently she made a point of asking if she was still considered an Olympian even if she can't compete. Clearly, she is. :)
I hope the figure skating and ice dancing will make good use of all the Russian music which is available to them.
They probably will; it's usually a popular choice. I know for sure that one of our ladies' competitors is skating to Tchaikovsky's "Sleeping Beauty". When it comes to ice dance, though, they have season-specific rules governing their choice of rhythm/dance steps they can use in the short dance. (Last season it was Latin rhythms; this season it's something called "Finnstep," but I have no idea what that is.) However, in the free dance they're given a lot more choice in the matter (fittingly enough).
