Soundtripping has been, and I guess forever will be one of the best ways to de-stress. It's been a while now since I've been able to actually take in some long, deep, relaxed breathes. This song has been with me for a while now... not entirely sure when. It just shuffled back into ipod existence the other day while I was finishing up my finance assignment. I do remember the first time I connected with the song. It was back when I first left for Halifax. I was devastated then. Leaving behind everything you knew to start something new (LOL) was, is and forever will be hard on anyone. This song made me feel a little better, but the net result was me missing all the important things, places, smells, feels and people that I'd have to say goodbye to.
When it shuffled back into my ears, it wasn't all that dramatic. It's been almost three years already and I've learned to let go of some things and accept a lot of the others. However this song, for some reason made me think back to High School. A2K6, the ICAkada, the SmileySiblings and the overall innocence and carefree attitude of that period in my life.
It kinda bummed me out since I just learned that I would not be travelling back to the motherland this Christmas and thus all the awesome plans I've made would have to be put on hold. Oh well... I should be back during the summer. I just hope its not too late.
