It ended *emo*

Well, it ended T_T And obviously I have to randomly rant about it...so, everything under a cut, as always.

MadHouse changed the ending. Ok, Raito died all the same, but it was different...but let's start from the beginning, namely Raito being inevitably cornered and becoming UTTERLY INSANE. It was just like in the manga, but seing it animated...well, it's a way damn different thing. Miyano Mamoru did a great work, Raito's voice was FRIGHTENING, to say the lest. It was mad, and it was angry, and it was WOAH. And when he started laughing I was really, REALLY scare...even if, at the same time, amused xD But that laugh was so different from the previous ones, it was just TOTALLY INSANE. And then he started ranting about him being the only one able to cleanse the world, to make it a better place, a place in which he would have regined as a god, the god of the new world and whatever...Yes, Raito, yes...You're just crazy, didn't you know?
Anyway, I'm not here to say what happened in the episode, 'cos we all know it, I'm here to make my considerations. It was a SO TOTALLY GREAT episode.
As I was saying, the first half of it(well, nearly the entire episode, to tell the truth) was just like the manga, and it was FRIGHTENING, and Raito was FREAKING PATHETIC. C'mon, for the first time in my life(okay, the second; the first was when I read the manga) I felt something like symphaty for Matsuda. He had all his reasons to be mad at Raito and shoot at him like he himself was going insane xD But it would have been CRAPPY for Raito to die being killed by Matsuda, obviously, so my symphaty for him ends here. And then there was the first surprise, namely Mikami killing himself with a damn pen and SPITTING BLOOD LIKE A FUCKING FOUNTAIN! It was since there that I started WTF-ing. It seemed like I was re-watching Kill Bill, and I asked myself "Is something like this POSSIBLE anyway?!" It was really strange, and I'm torn about what to think of it...I don't know if Mikami did it just because he was desperate, or because he wanted to give a last chance to his "god"(and this is definitely what all the Raito/Mikami shippers would think xD). And they also cut the part in which Mikami tells Raito he's not god, and this makes me think even more then, even if he was desperate, he wanted to give him a chance. I'm really happy they cut that scene, it was something between really sad and totally pathetic...I was sad enough when Raito said he didn't know Mikami.
Anyway, since everyone now is busy watching KillBill!Mikami and going wtf, Raito, who has been shot at least four or five times, and who was SWIMMING IN HIS OWN BLOOD(yeah, swimming lessons ftw), nearly dead, finds not only the strenght to stand up and walk, but also to open that not-so-light door and RUN AWAY! Well, the scene that comes after....is just pure sadness T_T And I hate it for being like this! It's not right, not at all! It's poetic, it0s cool, it's well made, and for all these reasons I somewhat have to hate it, 'cos is JUST SO WRONG.
In the manga Raito just DIED, being crazy and pathetic and begging for Ryukuu not to kill him. It was brutal, but it was right. It was natural! He had found the death note, tried it, decided to use it and become "the god of the new world", and since then he was already insane. He then started killing also innocent people for his "noble" cause, 'cos someone had to do it, they were sacrifices that had to be made for the new world to prosper. He wanted a world in which good, innocent people could live in peace, but HE, thinking to be god, decided WHO the innocents were.
Then he killed L. And it was his "greatest" victory, which drove him mad without any hope. Since then, he was just a poor human being who believed to be god, but who was just a fool. There was justice in his initial idea, but only there...it disappeared when he started killing and calling himself god.
His ideas remained the same crazy ones 'til the end, and he died being still just a fool.

In the anime...they made it seems like he was redeeming himself. Which totally CAN'T BE. And I'm disappointed...it was cool, but just not right, that's what I think.
And while dying he saw L! I don't know what to think about this, but the fangirl inside me is clearly screaming xD
Btw...I like the episode nonetheless. It was really splendidly done, and I cried, which means MadHouse succeeded in making it sad and touching, at least. Even if Raito didn't deserve it >_>

Okay, know that it ended...and I'll be sad about it forever ;_; I need a new anime to watch! But I'm death note obsessed from somthing like more than a year, it will be really difficult to find something enough amazing DX *dies*
