My (Emotional) Reaction to Furious 7

================WARNING: FURIOUS 7 REVIEW. DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS================

The day has come. Furious 7, the action movie of the year. With great names like Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, may you rest in peace, Dwayne Johnson, and all the others who made all of this possible. Who could forget the tough chick Michelle Rodriguez, or the jokester Tyrese, always there with something funny to say or do. The lovely Jordana Brewster, with her calm personality, and the man who can keep Tyrese in check is of course none other than Ludacris. And the man who directed these films ever since the third, Justn Lin.

They truly made something beautiful out of this film. It did not disappoint.

As soon as I could I reserved tickets for the show in IMAX. I just had to see it on the big screen. Go big or go home. But even before we went to watch this new masterpiece, we had some preparing to do. That's right, rewatch the first six films. It took us back on the journey from start to finish.

Then it was time. Time to go watch Furious 7 on screen.

==================WARNING: SPOILER ALERT==================Just watching the intro made me want to come back for more. A customised IMAX intro based on Fast and Furious. A-ma-zing.

Then the actual film begins....

==================WARNING: MAJOR SPOILER ALERT==================
THEN you see Statham talking, and boy, doesn't my heart fight up a storm. I know that he's the bad guy, we saw proof of that at the end of the 6th film. I know that he will fight the crew you've grown to love. I also know that Statham is a guy not to be messed with. Immediately I don't know who you should root for, Statham, or the team.

But the show goes on. And that's when I realise that Owen Shaw is still alive, though heavily injured. Whew. (Sorry, I just like the guy.) Once Statham leaves I get the feeling that I'm just watching the end of a Statham movie. Destruction, mayhem, bodies everywhere. Holy shit. How the hell is anyone going to beat that?!

Seeing Paul Walker as a father is adorable.

(I'm not telling everything. Just the important stuff. Kind of.)

The action sequences are fast, hard, a little over the top, but beyond awesome. It's beawesome.

Dwayne Johnson vs. Jason Statham. (I'll freely admit, I was rooting for Statham.)
Wow. That was some fight. With amazing one-liners from Statham as I've come to expect of him. And Elena to the rescue with her short-cropped blond hair. (Making me all jealous. I want it short, too! It's so much easier.)

Vin Diesel vs Jason Statham.
Damn. These two pitted against each other. So much tension. These two guys are so much alike in their goals that it's hard to pick who to root for. Both fight for the same thing. Diesel for his family, Statham for his brother.

Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez.
Oh my God. The scenes with them is so intense. Memory loss is awfull. And then at the end, when she has her memories back as she tells Diesel not to die on her. Tears, tears, tears.

I must admit, I was glad to see that Statham was still alive at the end of the movie. So now we have both brothers returning in the next installment.

Then there is the final scene. The one that got me crying my eyes out. The tribute to Paul Walker. Not to his character in the movie, but to the actor, the human being. The white light that surrounded Walker in the car. From that moment I knew what was coming. I saw the images, I heard Diesel's words, and I cried. I cried and cried and cried. It was so full of emotion.  No moviescene has ever had such a great impact on me than that.

I will definitely watch it again. I will add it to my collection.

furious 7, fast and furious, warning
