Alive after a respite
So rather than creep on the friends page of my LJ without posting (which I have been prone to doing on a number of pages and forums lately; see MPLS Bike Love and TarckBike) I will announce my presence.
I'm here. In South Minneapolis. I love the city more than I can say.
I work at the Midtown Greenway Coalition and now bike EVERYWHERE. I am in a real relationship with a real man (still wierd to say, rather than boy, but he's 25 and wonderful so not really a boy at all) who I am 110% myself around. We are nerdy and silly and active and serious and generally happy.
I'm only going home to Naperville for 5 days. I want to see all of you who are there, but my level of happiness in Minneapolis has further illumined how unhappy I am generally when I'm back home. Not because of people; you're all spectacular and I wish we could visit and chat more often. But the place itself has nothing for me. And my family fights, a lot. And it's draining.
But I'm happy. Drinking tea, meditating and yoga-ing and working at a non-profit and meeting spectacular people, things are beautiful indeed. In spite of -15 degrees with windchill ;)
