Need Advice On An Eco-Friendly Car

So, my dad is shopping for a small family SUV at the moment, and no matter what I (or my mom) say to him about not really needing an SUV and thinking about environment, he just doesn't care and still wants to get one. So far he's been looking at Seat Altea Freetrack, and I want to give it a try and suggest to him something along the same lines but a lot or at least a little bit greener, if such a thing exists.
