GRE day approaches

Apr 12, 2007 09:17

Just in time for the GRE I have developed either a minor cold or mega allergies (most of you have seen how sick I get when I have a cold so you understand why a mild cold=mega allergies). I am still gonna take the exam as schedualed because I have gotten someone to cover for me at work. I took a practice test last night, my score is improving. I need to work a little more on writing a good essay with a crappy prompt. why can't the prompt be something like, "explain an environmental problem" or "write a 5 paragraph essay about something of intrest in your feild. Why are the prompts always social issues that involve raising kids? I have some experience borrowing friend's babies and toddlers but I really can't write a decent essay about why public schools need to teach values to students (they prefer for you to take the opposite veiw of whatever your prompt is, the prompt was that schools were not responsoble, the parents were, I agree with that but had to try to take the other side.....).

I only need to buy a few more things before I go to Kenya. I have bought skirts and yesterday I bought my portable medicine cabinet. still want/need to buy a new camera and an MP3 player. I could live without the MP3 player but it would be much nicer to take a smally device than to take my bulky CD player and a case of CD's. Also need to buy gifts for people I'll be visiting and figure out what kind of knitting project to take with me.

Starting Saturday evening I guess I can focus my energy on prepping for Kenya part II and start workign on grad school admissions essays.....
