I am (FINALLY) in the happy position of being able to make a career decision. However, because my gut instinct of grabbing whatever comes my way first has got me in trouble with jobs before, I am taking a poll:
Should I:
a. accept a job offer from Alyeska (near Anchorage) tomorrow morning, for ~40 hours/week at $10.50, for a job that is mostly staffing the aid room with "probably" some days ski patrolling and "maybe" employee housing, if they finish it soon enough. There's probably some demand in Anchorage for a private math tutor, which would be nice.
b. prevaricate tomorrow while talking with Alyeska and send in my (JUST now) completed application to Eaglecrest ski patrol (near Juneau). The pay might be a little better, the hours roughly similar, and certainly no housing. Although I've never been to Juneau, I think it would be a lot nicer than Anchorage, although not large or elite enough that I would be able to tutor.
c. patrol at Snoqualmie again, where I've made some friends I'd like to keep, for about 56 hours/week and $9/hour
d. continue kissing ass to Crystal Mountain management to try again for them to accept me and possibly patrol near where David works.
Basically, this boils down to:
a. good skiing and some location
b. great location, lots of uncertainty
c. friends
d. boyfriend and a larger mountain
TELL ME WHAT PRIORITIES YOU WOULD CHOOSE!
