Mario Kart DS is the awesome.
So I caved in and bought Mario Kart DS, even though I'm getting one with my Mario Kart bundle on the 29th. However, I plan to give that copy to my cousin for Christmas, so its all good.
Anyway, I've enjoyed myself for the most part, especially once I learned how to play effectively, and finally figured out which character I preferred (Luigi). Single player racing is the great. But multi is where its at.
Currently Tyler is better than me, but I hope with more practice I can remedy that terribly unjustifiable situation.
The best part: My father and I figured out how to get the WFC to work for our DS', so I've basically been playing Mario Kart DS online all night. My record is not exactly a great indication, cause one race (against Cory, Josh and Ferquin) we had to disconnect from cause Josh dropped, yet it gave me three free loses for that. Then the was the one circuit I was currently in second (vying for first on the last race) where my DS ran out juice. (Didn''t even notice it was low on battery power!) I've had to recharge my DS twice in a three day span. Thats just wrong.
Online impressions: Pretty easy to get a game going. Haven't had a chance to really test friend matchmaking yet. Only got to play that one game with Cory and he had Ferquin and Josh on his friend list, so I guess that worked well. Will have to see when trying to get three specific friends (Travis, Nicole, Chris, Bryan, I'm looking at YOU). Surprisingly enough, very few people drop during a circuit, even when its hopeless for them to make a comeback. I am duly impressed with their steadfastness. It makes me wish I could communicate with them somehow.
