The Meaning of Christmas

Dec 25, 2008 17:37

On this day I link you in four redundant ways to some semblance of truth, however cryptic and mysterious its form may be. I remind you that open-mindedness is a prerequisite for wisdom. Ultimately, Truth can only reside within.

1. "By his very success in inventing labor-saving devices, modern man has manufactured an abyss of boredom that only the privileged classes in earlier civilizations have ever fathomed." - Lewis Mumford

2. "Today there are few societies where official policy works to preserve wilderness and the old ways of life as serious alternatives to the urban-industrial pattern; at best, they are being embalmed and tarted up as tourist attractions." - Theodore Roszak

3. "Just look at us. Everything is backwards. Everything is upside-down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information, and religion destroys spirituality." - Michael Ellner

4. Nothing I show, including the above set of quotations, rests solely with my consciousness. Please find the patience to meet one of my teachers speaking on 2012 - The Future of Mankind. I warn you... tread carefully.

Stay with me a little longer and I'll see you on the other side in 2009! Happy Holidays
