Gabriel screws up his face in confused disapproval, “It’s like God’s a pimp, graciously allowing Robert for a few moments to think he could be Nigel’s”, and Kay is torn between laughing and crying because the image is painfully accurate.

Whiteness floods the dark room, hurting his eyes, making his headache even worse, but Gavin forces himself to look up at the angelic vision leaning over him in a halo of light, he’s trembling in need for that last of all sweet kisses and a broken sob is all he can manage when his angel of death turns out be only Cissy holding a tray with food that makes the bile rise in his throat.
66. Snow
Gabriel likes his cock, Molly cooks his favourites, Robert makes sure he doesn’t kill himself, but it’s Cissy who makes Gavin eat even when half of it comes back and holds him close when almost hysterical laughter turns into broken sobs.
