Nov 21, 2011 02:18

So I managed to get my completed Big Bang in with a whole 16 minutes to spare!!! The TV Boyfriend post has now been updated with extras like pictures, lyrics, individual downloads, AKA all kinds of cool shit. Check it out.

I have a couple overdue memes I keep meaning to fill out!

Comment with Bionic Unicorns!!!! and I shall give you a letter. Then post ten things you love that begin with that letter.

Waaaaay back in September, ninjaunicorn201 gave me the letter M.

01 - Marion, as in my grandmother, for whom I am named.
02 - Mairelon the Magician, which is now apparently called 'Magic & Malice', which is still 'M', though I don't like it as much. Doesn't tell you what the book is.
03 - Maurissa Tancharoen. Ha! Didn't see that one coming, did ya? ;)
04 - Monsters, especially furry ones. OMG! The kids in our class did this adorable Halloween art project where they chose from different monster parts and cut them out & glued them to make their very own monsters & then they wrote stories about them, and they were HILARIOUS & Secret Favorite student drew a SIX PACK of abs on zhir minotaur-werewolf-thing!!!!!!
05 - Moon. I can't help it. I'm a Cancer.
06 - Monkeyshines. Damn, that is a good word. I'll have to remember it for the next time I write Psych fic. Oooh, or Middlefic!
07 - Minesweeper, but only on my computer. I have Windows XP still; I hate the updated version with all the 'fancy' graphics. Or those stupid flowers.
08 - Macadamia Nuts, but only fresh ones, 'cause I have been spoiled by my grandparents' ranch.
09 - Martial Artists. Seriously, who doesn't like 'em?
10 - Memes. ;D

And from sellthelie: Reply with "Batman’s crying!" and I'll give you four fandoms. Write about your favorite character from each fandom.

Burn Notice: I just can't choose a favorite. I really can't. In fact, I have joked my way out of this very question before by answering, 'mojito'. I mean, Michael is the hero, and the show just doesn't work if you don't sympathize with him, or if you think he is pathetic. You really have to believe in him & feel his injustices along with him. Sam is Bruce Campbell, come the fuck on! Fiona is everything I could ever ask for in a female character (sometimes I think she's unfair to Michael, but I can handwave that away as writing for ~drama~). And I just have a massive crush on Jesse.

Pushing Daisies: Emerson Cod. Easily. I think I pretty much fell in love with him the second they showed that he had knitted a gun cozy for himself. I like his realistic/cynical attitudes toward magic (both the resurrection and prestidigitation kinds). I love how he's clever and resourceful, and how he treats everyone the same way.

Roswell: Hmm. That is a close call. I like both Valentis a LOT, but not from the very beginning. (You can tell when the writers started to write for Nick Wechsler, because that's when Kyle suddenly became awesome.) So I have to go with Maria. Which, the funny thing is, she is normally the type of character I would really dislike. She is the "weakest" of the bunch; she isn't strong/smart/powerful. She whines a lot, can be short-sighted and selfish, and is often kinda mean to Michael. But she's loyal, and kind, and brave, all without being a wishy-washy doormat. I think most of that is probably a credit to Majandra Delfino.

BtWS: Buffy... the Werewolf Stalker? XD (I have actually been mad curious about Young Justice's 'Wendy the Werewolf Stalker' since mizzmarvel told me about it. But I assume that's not what Mandy meant!) Drusilla, I think, is probably my favorite. Everything about her is fascinating -- she has the most meaty backstory of any of the Fanged Four (rebellious son! yawn. mama's boy! yawn. whore! slightly more intresting, but still. yawn. Catholic girl being told that her psychic power is evil and therefore she is evil and must suppress the visions, who is being stalked by psychopath vampire? way interesting!), and she provides exceptions to so many of the vampire rules we see. She has her thrall/hypnosis (IIRC, the only other vamps we see with similar powers are The Master & Dracula); she had a mysterious 'sickness' that made her weak until she got the cure; and, oh, yeah, there's that whole 'crazy' thing. And what's interesting about that is, first of all, that she gets the best dialog, but also things like her reactions to events and the way other characters treat her become more interesting.
