If you opt into Cyrillic services, the LJ store has unique and different types of userheads that you can buy for only $1.99. (Not that I condone throwing money at a company who clearly doesn't care what their users want.)

Unfortunately Cyrillic comes with that ugly layout, or at least it did the last time I used it, and as previously mentioned: terribly shallow. Plus two bucks is too much to pay for a 20x20 or whatever pixel thing, and yeah, so not into giving them money unnecessarily. But the LJ team knows how much I loathe them at least.
