It makes no freaking sense.

This is my major problem with Leverage now, too. It's really hard to care about it now. Mostly I just watch the episodes and try to figure out what the hell happened in the writers room between season 2 and 3.

If you are a shipper who watches the show & don't slash Artie/James, I am totally judging you right now.

AHAHAHA, okay, I'm only a demi-shipper, so do I get judged or not? Seriously, though, I find it hard to think that they WEREN'T aiming for slash. I just...okay, I'm not a fan of people "reading" romance into EVERY DAMN THING, but I can't see how we're supposed to interpret Artie and MacPherson WITHOUT romance.

Was disappointed with the underusage of Sean Maher & Jewel Staite, too (though I've now seen enough Firefly that I got all fluffy inside when I first saw them running a pie shop together). Felt the same was about Joe Flanighan's episode in season 1. The Warehouse crew is not good at sharing the spotlight.

The Leena-Claudia thing has been pissing me off, too - I think, given Claudia's previous characterization and backstory, it would make sense for her to have major trust issues with Leena over what happened, but not this epic bratty "My problems are the only ones that matter and you were deliberately hurting me, so I'm going to yell at you all the time" thing she's been doing. (But I still love Claudia. Don't judge me on that either, please? *Puppy dog eyes*)

Also, I don't like the "Leena was a puppet" thing, either. It's skeevy, and it's not good drama. SGU did a "Character that was doing bad thing was really just brainwashed, and now he's fixed!" thing too (with similar method of "fixing", that is, killing and resuscitating). And I hated it then, too, because if someone didn't make a CHOICE to do something, it doesn't tell me anything about them. and it's a way of handwaving consequences, which is lazy.

Of course, my wishlist for season 2 included "MORE Leena, not less," and I had no idea how that would come true if they had made her a villain.

Hahaha, but it sounds like you ship it to me. ;)

They really need to get J Flan back. I mean, they purposefully left a wide channel for his character to reoccur. GET ON IT, GUYS!

The thing is that it's not just the storyline which is skeevy, the way its written is skeevy. Like you said, with much hand-waving and no consequences.

I've also been really unsatisfied with the backstory on Leena's character. I mean, it's obvious that they want her to be mysterious, but like... we don't even know what her job IS. Why does she have full access to the warehouse, but not ever go to obtain any of the stray artifacts?

Well, I have a complicated relationship with the word "ship." I can't really see myself writing any Artie/James, and I don't have too much interest in reading any, but it's basically canon for me. Does that count? LOL

Mmmm, I second the vote to bring back Joe. On every show. Ever. *dazed*

Plus, I love mystery and ambiguity as much as the next girl, but at this point in the show we have TWO characters whose main purpose is to be mysterious. Can't we get some answers about *one* of them, at least? And yes, why does she know things? Why have access? In the pilot, I thought she was just a BnB owner who was very observant and smart and put the pieces all together. But that's totally not what it is, so. I don't know.

I like the theory that she herself is an artifact, though that seems unlikely to become canon.

Yeah, it counts!

What you said. She is introduced as someone who runs a B&B, who is safe to talk about artifacts around, and who mayyyybe occasionally lent a hand around the place, but it seems like she is full-on working there now. (I'm guessing the role changed as they wanted to write more scenes for the character, but. It still needs to be adressed more explicitly in the show, because it is so inconsistent.)

There is fic of that.

I know, that fic is where I got the theory from. I just like it so much I want it to be canon!
