I was looking at my last entry and thought, 'Huh. 3 women, 3 men. Stunningly even.' And that's when I realized they were ALL white people. FAIL!
So here are 6 characters of color who each deserves zhir own spin-off:
Julia Ling as Anna Wu (Chuck)
She's smart! (We've never actually seen her fixing any computers, but since she's
part of the Nerd Herd, she's theoretically able to.) She's comfortable with her sexuality!
She's funny! She can kick ass! She's awkward and adorable around her parents!
Best of all, she's no longer tied to the Buy More!
Aisha Hinds as Agent Loomis (Dollhouse)
She's snarky and competent and has special clearance and everybody wants her to
do them favors. She's also gotten a taste for the more curious cases, thanks to Ballard.
Especially since the actress is being wasted on roles like Jamaican Maid on Desperate Housewives.
Martin Yu as Mr. Wu (Veronica Mars)
He's "well-dressed, articulate, and detail-oriented!"
No, he's not gay, silly! He's Asian! (And yes, that's how he speaks to his students.)
And he's a high school physics teacher. There's a wealth of stories there!
Jake Smollett as Noser (The Middleman)
Mr. Noser could hit the road with his guitar, playing Stump the Band all across
the nation. He would be the most taciturn lead actor ever. It would be epic.
Mark Dacascos as Sensei Ping (The Middleman)
This would be a prequel to The Middleman, I think: Sensei Ping wandering the
earth, looking for worthwhile people to train, battling luchadors all the way. Also,
could feature, like, Indira Varma or other cool person as Raveena Rao.
Zoe Saldana as Anamaria (Pirates of the Caribbean)
WHEN DOES SHE GET HER BOAT BACK?! Will she need a crew?
If so, who would follow a female captain?
If not, what does she need it for?
Also, you know who could totally be a cool lady pirate mentor for Anamaria?
Takayo Fischer as Mistress Ching, that's who!
