Picspam: "Women in Trees"
A lot of photo shoots tend to reinforce traditional ideals of what it means to be a woman -- beauty, glamour, mystery. And while those are all nice things, the women depicted are usually just standing, sitting, or lying around -- beauty, glamour, & mystery is all there is.
Something I've seen increasingly frequently is the photo of a beautiful, mysterious woman in a glamorous, flowing gown... sitting up in a tree. I kind of adore these shots, because they break with the traditional ideals of womanhood by also injecting a sense of adventure, physicality, & capability -- without having to sacrifice any of the beauty, glamour, or mystery.
