I'm glad you and your sister are safe. It sounds really scary. I think it's moved far beyond a cause to become mindless vandalism and thuggery. My mam's cousin lived in Enfield, not sure if that's near you.

I don't get how it has suddenly spread to other cities, like it's something that should be copied. Hopefully the police will come up with some way of bringing the riots under control. I sincerely hope that they're able to prosecute some of the offenders.

It is just mindless violence, now. And stupid on top of that. They're saying that they might need to call in the army, soon.

It's probably spread using the mobile "sms" system, that's how demos work in the Spanish State, and it's amazing just how many can be mobilised!

Some of it's just disorganised hooliganism, but there's people getting mobs of kids (like, 10-12 yr olds) together. Blackberry's are playing a large part in everything.
