Because 1973 rocked
I have just watched both seasons of 'Life on Mars' over the last two days. Again. (English version, natch.) *is proud*
Slightly obsessive, yes. But for good reason. I can't believe I actually forgot how much I like that series. And the ending of the very last episode? Everything after the Sam-onna-rooftop bit is absolutely fab. Because yesssss. I love that Sam's so much more alive when he's out-of-place, out-of-time and absolutely in his element. Weirdly, I don't really even mind the canon het relationship, which, as anyone who knows me would be able to say, is completely weird. It's possibly because Annie is just a mix of so-utterly-adorable and kick-arse-girl-power. Because she actually rocks.
Okay, yes, I admit I'd be happier if there had been a Gene/Sam ending, but a) that's just complete bollocks and wishful thinking combined and b) that's what fanfic's for. (Love lifein1973 people, completely.)
So, general consensus among the voices in my head - 'Life on Mars' rocks, John Simm rocks, and I now have more LoM plotbunnies. Which, considering previous attempts at LoM fic, are going to be complete and utter pornage. Yum.
