A few weeks ago while at class, I got an IM from some unknown screenname, basically saying, "howdy". I figured it was one of my session 1 kids saying hello. (This was during S2.) I checked the S1 contact list for my class, and the screenname in particular wasn't on it. The person had logged out by this point, not to be seen again for quite a while.
So today, as I'm reading, I hear an incoming IM. I switch my screen to read it, and the following was in one of my conversation tabs:
(19:58:21) *********: howdy person who r u
(19:58:29) ********* logged out.
Yup. 8 seconds from sending me an IM to logging out. Barely enough time to switch workspaces even if I had been sitting at the computer reading email or such. Hell, not even enough time to type a reply. Really, if one wants an answer to a question such as "who r u" (jesus, couldn't you at least learn to type properly whoever you are???), isn't it wise to wait for a reply before logging out? And if he/she has no idea who I am, and I have never IMed them before, why are they IMing me asking who I am???
