So, Iron Maiden's ex-drummer has passed away (news link here). Sad, sad times. He did the drumming on their first three albums, including "Number of the beast".
I'm really, really saddened by this. I try very hard not to make statements like "OMG THIS BAND CHANGED MY LIFE", but Iron Maiden really did help form me - they were a very strong influence for a few years while I was growing up. I don't know, it seems silly to be upset over the death of someone I've never properly met, but it seems he was partly responsible for such a chunk of how I am that, well, I am.
