(no subject)
I still haven't gotten around to reading the Bible, which I've been meaning to do for an awful long time, but one of my friend's relatives (Arnie's brother, if you want to know) posted this on Facebook, and it made me grin - especially in light of last week's drunken post:
"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken"(Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
I really like that. I've always wanted to read the Bible - it is bound to contain some wise words, if you believe in the whole 'God' thing or not - and just never really found time. Maybe I can read it on the train some time.
Of course, such wise words are also easily found elsewhere. The Bill and Ted soundtrack gives us this:
