Holiday Wishing List
♥ Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV"). The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
♥ If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!
♥ Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
♥ Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part...
♥ If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.
♥ You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1. MUSIC!! I love music. Can never have enough of it. And there are some serious holes in my collection! Like classic rock. I have Queen and Led Zeppelin and that's it! o_O Blues is another big hole. I'm game for pretty much any music (if I don't like it I generally like to learn to appreciate it). Even your own band's music! So any music you would care to give or share would be awesome!
2. Muse memorabilia - they are my favorite band. So anything Muse related goes into this category! From simple things like fun Muse picture or lyric icons to not-so-simple things like autographs and guitar picks. Though if it something actually touched by Matt Bellamy, my head might explode...we aren't certain about the chemical interactions at this point. Heheh.
3. Impala stuff. Yes, you heard me. Chevy Impala stuff. If it's 1966, then the mint-green, hard-top, two-door. If it's 1967, then the black, hard-top, four-door. I don't know about engines and stuff. Basically, it's about the look. So two things. 1967 = Metallicar from Supernatural (and Metallicar stuff totally works here). 1966 = my Ama's baby that I grew up riding in. :) This can be anything related to the Impalas from those weird ad brochures and matchbox cars to the real thing...uhm, though I have nowhere to PARK the real thing at the moment. *flail*
4. My own icons that are just for me! Either from pics of me (or me and you) or of stuff and sayings that just reminds you of me! :)
5. Religious/folklore chotchkies/relics and charms. Honestly, I don't know that I can have enough of this stuff. Whenever my family travels they bring interesting folklore/religious things back for me. I'm hip to the big 7 (Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, & the Tao) and "pagan" things. (ex, Buddhism - could be a lil' statue of a Buddha, a leaf from a Bhodi tree, a dharma wheel, a dorje, mala, etc.)
6. Publishing deals (and or coaching on how to make that happen). I have a decent amount of things written now that can be published. Mostly fiction. I think it's about time. :)
7. Stuff made by you! It could be a scarf, a card, a poem, a story, a fic, a piece of jewelery, a picture, a photograph, a painting, a statue, a sculpture (you get the idea?)...just something made by your own lil' hands that you would want to be in my safe keeping. :)
8. Pay it forward. Whether it is buying lunch for someone on the street, taking that shopping cart that you pull up next to in the parking lot to where all the other carts are living, smiling at strangers, forgiving yourself just this one time - you get the picture. All it takes is one little thing and you've changed the world.
9. Mail. Real snail-mail letters, cards, postcards. I miss tactile missives sometimes.
10. Time with you. Whether it be on the chats, on the phone or in person, spending time with people is part of what life's about.
