Presented my Battle Royale paper proposal in front of the class for critique, and the reactions as they were reading were most satisfying. ^_^ Someone gasped while reading the first sentence ("Forty-two ninth graders, forced to choose between killing their best friends and being killed; merely the next step in violent, exploitive entertainment, or a potent allegory for society today?"), one girl murmured "That's horrible!" when she finished reading it, and several people said that it sounds interesting and they really want to see it. So, I offered to pass my DVD around since it'd be almost impossible to find a copy around here, and a few people (including the teacher) said they were interested. Yay for spreading the BR love! ^___^
