Summary: It's nothing personal, little rabbits. He just can't have you making any mononoke, you see?
The Story:
The Medicine Seller woke up on the morning of the 28th with an epiphany.
All of these years, pursuing his mission tirelessly, he'd been going about it wrong. And as an apothecary, he should really have known better.
Going after the mononoke, and not the people who caused them. It was treating the symptom... and not the disease. He'd have to change that. Have to start striking at the source. And the funny thing about the sources of mononoke... you'd never know who they were, to look at them at first.
Clearly, he couldn't afford to be too safe. And now that Dean had given him a weapon for use on humans... he wouldn't have to take any chances.
Everyone was fair game.
