The Story:
[Though he hasn't quite realized his sudden loss in hearing, Gamzee seems to understand that there is something up with this mansion. Something whacked, strange, different, and quite possibly miraculous. But to him, the whole. Seeing words instead of hearing them, is just another miraculous acid trip that his think pan is comprehending. So this is totes normal, right?
Just like it's COMPLETELY natural to use office supplies to make yourself look like a trollized tree. Look, he's got post-it notes for the leaves, used various pens and markers to draw lines onto his face and arms to imply texture. (What the artist he is!) and he's even taken a couple of binder clips to form cocanuts for his lovely tree being self.
