Summary: Clarence wants to go home. Hailing a cab didn't work and the bus is late again, so there's really only one thing left to do; call up some friends, tie them to a bunch of large, alien crystals and kill them in order to open a portal to another dimension.
The Story:
As appealing as killing Pendergast was in its own right, it really didn't get Clarence anywhere on the long run, especially not home.
He doesn't blame himself for screwing up, of course. Theories and memories are one thing, the bloody practice is another thing entirely. And really, who could've guessed that the man was supposed to die during the process rather than be killed for the process to start?
Fortunately there is no need for immediate perfection, not when the mansion provides ample supplies in so many ways. He takes a last fond glance at the meat cleaver in his hand and then exchanges it for a bottle of chloroform and a rag.
