If it were possible for Hibari to have a skip in his step, he would have as he strolled into the foyer. As it was, his smirk was broad and broadcasting trouble to anyone who happened to be tuned in to his facial expressions. If Hibari was that happy, something was going to be bitten to death.

He appeared to be unarmed save for the single handgun at his hip. His tonfa were collapsed and tucked away, ready and waiting to his main offensive weapon.

Seeing Hubb he nodded slightly as he cam to stop several feet away. "How do we get them from the closet to the grounds?"

Hubb checked his shotgun one more time.

"We can pick one of the ground floor closets, and lead something outside. Or we could start at the vendors."

Hubb still seemed grouchy, but anyone in tune to how he thought might be impressed by how cheerful he was at the moment.

"I don't have money. Closet's first. We'll open the window."

He walked towards the rooms and tried a few doorknobs until one opened with a twist and revealed an empty room.

Hubb stepped in and barred the door behind him, to prevent beasties getting into the mansion itself, then he went over to prop the window open as far as it would go.

Hibari walked over to the closet and thought for a bit about all the different kinds of monsters that would be interesting to fight. He decided to leave it up to the closet, though, as he opened the door--

--and was pretty much thrown back as something large and mean burst out.

Hubb powered his light saber, fairly certain he'd heard of this type of monster before, but he couldn't remember what it was about them...

He swung the blade, cutting a head clean off - and then two grew back.

"Oh yeeeaaah..." Well, this should be fun.

Hibari watched the head thrash on the floor for a few seconds before it fell still, pulling his tonfa out and gauging the dragon like beast. He stepped forward and took on one of the two new heads, battling gnashing teeth with the steel of his tonfa and delivering punishing blows.

He wasn't so engrossed as to not notice more monsters seeping out through the closet door. They seemed to not like their odds against the hydra, however, and slunk towards the open window.

Hubb took a step back, grabbing his shotgun with his free hand and aiming for the body. The shot drew blood, but didn't have enough penetration for a kill shot against those scales.

He swung the blade in his right hand again...

As another head fell and two more replaced it, Hibari gave Hubb a glare. That didn't work so well the first time, what made you think it would work this time? The two new heads bobbed and snapped in the air, the third from the last beheading lay limp on the ground from having its skull pounded in. This was obviously why tonfa were better.

"The heads are mine." He snapped, sliding in between Hubb and the hydra. No, it wasn't really the same as saying I'll distract it and you get in there and kill it but there was still a chance Hubb could figure out Hibari-speak.

Hubb used the advantage, not because he understood Hibari, but because he knew combat. He expertly swung around the body, driving the blade at it's side -- hoping there were some internal organs in there somewhere.

-- And damn did that thing have a lot of blood.

But not enough blood to sustain it indefinitely. It thrashed and fought but eventually died in a heap on the floor.

Hibari kicked it a little with his toe then hurried out the window. The others were getting away...

Hubb followed out the window, something with wings dove at him. He spun out of the way, singing his arm as it breathed fire -- while it clawed at him -- and hissed and tried to bite him -- and roared.

Damn thing had more heads than necessary.

He got his blade ready and waited a moment for an opening. Seeing one, he swung for the lion head.

Hibari decided to leave that one to Hubb. Which was unfortunate because that looked really cool and dangerous.... but he'd had enough of this teamwork and it seemed like the old man was capable enough. He looked at the snow where the various tracks spread out in different directions. Some headed to the hedge maze, some the woods, some seemed to stretch on out towards the checker board hills. He headed out to the woods where it seemed the larger cluster of prints ran towards. The darkness only worried him for a second as the mansion lights dimmed behind him and the blackness rose before him. He could hear the rustle of beasts nearby.

Lightening fast, amidst the grove of trees, he spun around and blindly struck hard at the dog like face of the monster hunting him as he hunted it. A strangled whimper and a drool rich snarl erupted past impact and he turned to face it, one arm raised to block while the other adjusted its grip on the tonfa for the next jaw shattering blow.

Hubb was decidedly against being bitten by snakes, so when his blade connected with the lion's head, he put a bit of effort into avoiding the close-by snake head -- this put him a bit too close to the next bout of flame from the dragon, catching his shirt on fire. He dropped into the sow, rolling to his feet in a way that smothered the flames, and swung his weapon up at the scaled hind legs.
