the Story:
Lelouch had gotten the news from Kallen that they, meaning him, Kallen, and Suzaku, would have a gathering and talk about how things were back home. "Why does it have to be in my room...." Lelouch thought aloud, a little frustrated. He glared at the door, a bit nervous for the arrival of his 'guests'. A slight knock was heard on the other side, "It must be Kallen.... or maybe Suzaku." He got out of his chair and made his way to open the door.
Suzaku definetly was not happy with this arrangement. How could Kallen not just get it that Lelouch equaled Zero?! After rummaging his closet he found a hoodie that could hide a gun..just in case. He wouldn't actually use it (probably) since they had to act 'civilized', but it never hurt to have a gun by your hand. Walking over to Lelouch's room (and why his room? Of all rooms.) he knocked the door, and waited for the door to open while looking not so excited.
Lelouch opened the door to reveal Suzaku's cloaked figure. Seeing his "friend's" not-so-happy expression, Lelouch decided to keep his cool as well. "Hello... I didn't expect you to be the first one here."
Sighing, Suzaku took off the hood, leaning against the door. "I take it Kallen-san is not here," he said, accenting the '-san'. Damn that woman, not coming to get-togethers herself had planned.
"No, she isn't, as you can see." Lelouch took a step back to grant Suzaku entrance. His room was plain, with only a bed at the side, placed beside a large wardrobe. A desk with a laptop sitting comfortably on it was on the opposite side, a chair tucked in the desk, and a small round table with 4 seats in the middle of the room. "Come in. Make yourself at home."
Suzaku entered the room, while taking a quick scan of the room making mental notes on what everything was and how much space was between each furniture. "It's...a you room," he commented, not knowing what else to say.
Lelouch gave Suzaku a bit of a puzzled look, not expecting something so... tension-free. "Yes, I suppose it is. I never liked decorating much," he replied, regaining his composure.
If Suzaku was going to act like he did during Ashford, then he would, no mistakes, no slip-ups, no hint of his actual feelings. Facing Lelouch with a smile he had always given him at school, Suzaku complimented his 'friend's' room. "It's nice I like it,"
"Maybe when things settle down, you can come back and help make it more lively." Lelouch smiled back, but did not let his guard down. Afterall, his life might be on the line. However, Lelouch still enjoyed this kind of talk, even though he knew Suzaku did not really mean it. Still smiling, not letting his sadness peek through, he spoke, "Have a seat. I'll get you something to drink."
"You should ask Kallen-san to help you out with the decorating. She's very good at it," he said, still having his smile plastered on his face while remembering the time when she had gone into his room and covered the room with kitty pictures. It would not get off until just recently, and he was quite thankful it was gone. No more annoying, frilly, kitty pictures on every inch of his walls.
Suzaku took a seat on one of the chairs, listening to Lelouch's offer. "Do you need any help?" he asked.
"Wonderful, then you can both help me." In reality, Lelouch much rather prefered Suzaku decorating his room, regardless of his talent at doing so. And something told him that Kallen had her own taste of decorating, rather than following someone else's way.
Lelouch shut the door, but left it unlocked, and went over to get the drinks from his wardrobe; it could fit anything in there, "No, it's fine. I'll get them." Lelouch called back, grabbing at random some refreshments.
Suzaku laughed a tiny bit. "Maybe then. I don't have an amazing sense of decoration though, just to warn you," he said. After all, his own room was quite as bare as Lelouch's. Looking at the black haired boy grabbing the refreshments that appears from their magical closets, he wondered when Kallen would come.
"That's fine. Neither do I." Lelouch walked to the table and sat across from Suzaku, gently placing the drinks and the cups on the table. He poured whatever he got into the cups. Lelouch constantly thought his wardrobe had malfunctioned, since they didn't exactly provide food (or drinks) with labels.
"Thank you," Suzaku said, taking the glass. Looking into it and taking a small sniff of it, he wrinkled his nose. It smelt like...a certain something, that he couldn't just remember right now. "What is it?" he asked, looking up at Lelouch. "It doesn't smell like soda or juice,"
"I ask myself that question all the time." Lelouch brought his own cup to his nose, smelling it. "You're right... it's fizzing, so it looks like soda, but it doesn’t smell anything like it. Juice doesn't have bubbles..." He gave a confused look, staring at the liquids in the cup. "What could it possibly be...?" He thought. He was a bit scared to be the first to try it and waited for Suzaku to take the first sip.
Suzaku raised his eyebrows. "You want me to drink something you don't even know what it is?" he asked.
"It's not poison, I'm sure of that." Lelouch sighed. The liquid smelled odd. What its identity was slipped his mind for the moment, but it seemed he had no choice but to be the first to drink it. He brought it to his lips and took a sip.....
While looking at Lelouch take a sip, Suzaku smelt the liquid again, still trying to guess what the smell was. "How is it?"
Lelouch tasted the drink in his mouth. His expression went from confused to disgust. "It's.... bitter. I can't really get what it tastes like, though, but it tastes like something..."
Seeing that it didn't seem like it was poison, Suzaku took a small sip as well. Just as Lelouch said, it tasted a bit bitter. But it also tasted like something he's had before. "I don't think it's anything rotten or anything, so I think it's okay," he said.
"Hm... Yes, I suppose it is." Lelouch drank the rest of his drink in one shot and poured himself another. The drink took some getting used to, but after the first sip, the rest was not too bad. "The fact that I don't know what this is... is bothering me, though. Try again, Suzaku, maybe you'll get something."
Suzaku took another sip, trying to figure out what the taste was. "It tastes like something, but I just can't put my finger on just what it is," he said, downing the glass.
"Want more?" Lelouch offered, drinking the rest of his glass. He gave a mental note to himself that the drink was not normal. It made him feel a little light-headed, but his attitude remained normal.
"Sure, why not," he said, taking the glass and drinking it as well. Suzaku relatively felt normal, although he thought the room temperature might be a little bit on the high side.
Lelouch poured more into Suzaku's cup, while adding another glass-full to his own. "Suzaku, your face is turning red. Are you feeling all right?" Lelouch asked, drinking half of his glass.
Suzaku nodded, although he felt his face being hot. "I'm just a little hot," he said, taking off his hoodie, and putting it on the ground, leaving him with only a white tanktop.
"Ah, I see. I'll lower the room temperature a little, then." Lelouch finished his glass of whatever was inside it and went to lower the temperature.
"Thank you," he said, putting the glass of cool liquid to his flushed cheeks. He had no idea why he felt so hot. The room seemed okay a few minutes ago.... Suzaku mulled over that while finishing up his second and half glass.
After lowering the room temperature, Lelouch returned to his seat. "I'm feeling fine... a bit woozy, but fine. Why is Suzaku feeling so sickly?" Lelouch wondered. "Suzaku... you look tired......."
Suzaku didn't taste any poison in the drink, and he had drank some out of the same one Lelouch drank as well. He held his head in his hand, while trying to stand. However, that was a bad idea as he suddenly felt dizzy and faltered.
Lelouch got up and hurried over to Suzakuk to catch him. However, he failed miserably, and ended up falling with Suzaku ontop of him. "Ah..." he grumbled, holding his head. "Suzaku, are you okay?"
Suzaku looked up at Lelouch with hazy eyes and a flushed face. It took him a few minutes to process what Lelouch had just said, and took him another minute to nod his head. "Yeah...Sorry, I kinda felt dizzy.." he mumbled, with his hand still clutching Lelouch's shirt.
"It's fine. If you're not feeling well, you can lie down until Kallen comes." Lelouch commented. He noticed Suzaku was still holding on to him. Something was seriously wrong.
Suzaku stared at Lelouch's face as his noticed his friend was saying something. However, insted of listening to what he was actually saying, he just stared at Lelouch's mouth moving. Few moments after Lelouch had stopped talking, Suzaku suddenly pushed Lelouch all the way down to the floor, and planted a clumsy kiss on the other boy's mouth.
Lelouch now knew what the drink was: champagne. He was very shocked, unbelievably shocked. But his strength was not enough to push the other boy off. "Sphooziayku..!?"
Sadly, Suzaku was not listening to what Lelouch was saying nor did he budge to the other's pushing. Instead, he just deepened the kiss.
Lelouch was even more shocked now, but realized that the kiss was not..... bad. He didn't struggle any longer, but kissed Suzaku back, deepening the kiss even further, his own vision starting to become blurry. "This...isn't...good..." he thought.
The day so far had been long and boring. As usual, a whole lot of nothing had been going on, and Kallen was bored out of her skull. So, upon receiving an invitation to spend time with Suzaku and Lelouch, she decided to take them up on the offer.
The gettogether was to be in Lelouch's room, which, luckily for Kallen, was only a few doors down. When she reached the room, she knocked and called out. "Hello? I'm here."
Suzaku noticed some knocking on the door and a female voice, but he absolutely did not want to break the kiss right now to answer the stupid door. Ignoring it, he slid his hand up under Lelouch's shirt.
Lelouch let out a slight gasp as Suzaku's hand slid under his shirt. He had heard the knocking and tried to push Suzaku off again, but failed once again. His lips were still locked in the kiss and was unable to say anything. "Damn it... the door's unlocked, too... please don't open it, please don't open it..."
A noise could be heard inside the room, which told Kallen that someone was in there. She knocked again and tried the doorknob. "Um...hello? Lelouch?" The doorknob turned easily under her hand, but she didn't want to go inside without being invited.
Suzaku broke the kiss taking a gasp of air. He glared at the door, wondering why she wouldn't go away. "Go away Kallen. We're busy," he said in a loud voice with slightly slurred words. He continued sliding his hands over Lelouch's chest, nuzzling into the black hair.
"Ah!" Lelouch gasped again, holding Suzaku's hands, "Idiot, don't go up there!" he hissed quietly, making sure Kallen didn't hear. His vision started to blur again and his face began to flush a little, but not as bad as Suzaku's. He began to get a little dizzy and loosened his grasp on Suzaku's hands.
Giving a sound of frustration, Kallen finally opened the door and walked into the room. "Look, if you're going to invite someone over, the least you could do is let th--WHAT IS GOING ON?!" She wasn't sure how to describe the scene in front of her, so she just stood still and stared at the two guys in front of her. "Do I WANT to know what the hell....no, no I don't."
Suzaku finally took his hand out of Lelouch's shirt and sat up, glaring at Kallen. "I told you, we're busy! Now will you go away?!' he said, making shooing gestures. "Unless.........if Kallen wants to join in as well."
Lelouch was starting to lose his senses. He was still feeling a bit woozy and all he wanted was Suzaku; nothing more. He turned around and saw a woman's figure, with a muffled yelling coming from her direction. ".....Kallen?" he managed to mumble, holding onto Suzaku's waist for support.
The urge to hit her head against the doorframe was increasing. Kallen could be doing better things. Like staring at the wall. Or counting ceiling tiles. Or washing windows. "No, I do NOT want to join you, pervert," she mumbled at Suzaku, stepping further into the room. A sound was heard and Kallen looked down to find she had knocked over a bottle. "What...." Picking it up, she inspected it. "Have you two been DRINKING?"
Suzaku blinked and tilted his head innocently. "Drinking?" he asked. He truthfully still had no idea what was in the un-labled bottle.
"...What are you talking about...? We weren't drinking...." Lelouch stared at Suzaku, dazed, giving him a slight kiss on the cheek. "No... not drinking at all...." he mumbled.
Kallen unscrewed the top and gave the bottle a sniff. Yep, champagne. She reached out, grabbed the back of Suzaku's shirt and pulled him off of Lelouch. "All right, I think it's time for you to go back to your room," she said, dropping the bottle in the process. "I think you two have had enough."
Suzaku gave Kallen a pouty face. "Why? We aren't drunk and I still want more," he said, looking over at Lelouch.
Lelouch felt really hot; he could feel his face getting redder by the second. "That's right, Kallen... we're fine." He lazily crawled closer to where the other two were standing and took hold of Suzaku's leg, not wanting him to get any further away.
A sigh escaped Kallen's lips and with some difficulty, moved Suzaku so that he was behind her and she was between the guys. "I'm cutting the two of you off and you," she said, looking at Suzaku, "are going back to your room."
Suzaku looked up at Kallen with a frown and shook his head. "Don't feel like it. I wanna stay with Lulu," he said, crossing his arms like a little child.
Lelouch grumbled as Suzaku was pulled even further away from him. "Kallen...!" he whined, "Let Suzaku go..... I want him here...... Suzaku......" he pulled himself up slowly, before finally standing on his feet again, trying his best to glare at Kallen, without looking stupid.
Now her head was starting to hurt. Going back to her room and sleeping sounded good. But not before unceremoniously dumping Suzaku into his room. "No. Come on." Yanking on his arm, Kallen turned and began to drag Suzaku from the room.
"Tch," Suzaku tried yanking his arm away from Kallen, trying to break free. "Lemme gooo!"
"Kallen, let Suzaku go!” Lelouch charged at Kallen, trying to knock her off balance and get Suzaku free from her grasp.
Kallen's fighting instincts kicked in and she swung a foot out, trying to catch the back of Lelouch's knees. She didn't want to hurt him, just get him to the ground.
Suzaku stopped yanking to watch Kallen trip Lelouch. He giggled a bit, leaning on Kallen.
Lelouch felt the blow to the back of his knees and fell to the ground. The alcohol was now kicking in, so he didn't feel any pain, just a little dizzier. He fell silent for a moment, trying to regain more of his conciousness.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Kallen tightened her grip on Suzaku's arm and started to lead him out again. "Let's go. I'll come back to make sure Lelouch is all right."
Suzaku pouted again, but followed Kallen with clumsy steps. He figured if he wanted Lelouch again, he could come over to his room and lock the room before doing anything. Maybe after Kallen went back to her own room..
Lelouch let out a small giggle as he watched Kallen take Suzaku out, "Come back to visit me soon, Suzaku!" he waved in goodbye, "We can continue~" he added. "Bye, Kallen!"
"You know," said Kallen, pulling Suzaku down the hall. "I can't wait for Euphemia to hear about this. She'll be amused by your antics."
"Eu..phemia..? Why?" he asked, being pulled by Kallen like a little child.
"Yes, Euphemia." Kallen stopped in front of Suzaku's room and faced him. "You know, the girl you've loved for.....well, a while now. But I guess she'll be disappointed to find out you love someone else."
Suzaku shook his head. "When did I say I love someone else? I love Euphie," he answered.
Narrowing her eyes, Kallen tightened her grip a bit more. "Then what the hell were you doing with Lelouch, huh?" A smile crossed her face as she realized something. "Let me guess. You weren't getting any from Euphemia, so you decided to go for the next best thing?"
Suzaku winced a bit, tugging on the arm. "That hurts Kallen," he whined. "And no I was going after him because he was just there. I don't mind doing it with you if you'll like,"
He didn't just..... "No," replied Kallen, opening Suzaku's door. "One, I'm seeing someone, and two, I don't want you period."
"Why? I don't think I'm too bad," he said, face close to Kallen's.
Kallen stuck her free hand in Suzaku's face and pushed him away. "Well, I do."
"I'm hurt Kallen! Why dya hate me so much?" he asked, faking tears.
"Because you're the enemy," she answered, pulling him into his room. Kallen threw Suzaku onto the bed and glared at him. "Now get some rest."
"Oof!" Suzaku fell ungracefully on the bed. "If I'm your enemy, why don't you kill me right now?"
Holding out her hands, Kallen showed him that they were empty. "Sorry, not armed right now. But if you give me a moment, I could go get my gun."
Suzaku thought for a while. "Uuum...naah, I'll pass on the dying thing for now. Maybe later, you can," he said, smiling at Kallen brightly.
Suppressing the urge to smother him with a pillow, Kallen turned and walked out of the room without saying anything. She mumbled a few choice obscenities about guys and drinking before reentering Lelouch's room
Suzaku pouted and flopped on the bed, wondering when he can go see Lelouch again.
Lelouch was in the same position as the others left him: on the floor, smiling, giggling, waving goodbye. When he saw Kallen enter without Suzaku beside her, he pouted, "Kallen! Where is Suzaku?"
Closing the door behind her, Kallen walked over to Lelouch and held out a hand. "He's in his room, sleeping. Now come on, get up."
"Sleeping?! Aaawww.... I wanted to see him again, though!" Lelouch whined, yet he still obeyed Kallen's orders, and got up. He shook a little, though, but managed to stay standing this time.
Kallen led Lelouch over to his bed and pushed him down onto it. "It might be a good idea for you to sleep as well. Tomorrow morning is not going to be pleasant for you."
Lelouch hit his bed with a loud thud, banging his head against the wall, "Ow!" he exclaimed, "Geez, Kallen, you're so forceful.........."
“I didn't even push you that hard," replied Kallen. "What on earth were you two thinking? Did you not even look at the bottle before you started drinking?"
"It's not our fault! The wardrobe is broken! It doesn't put labels on the food... or drinks...!" Lelouch went on the defensive.
The headache was turning into a migraine and Kallen wanted to down some aspirin and go to bed. "You two are idiots," she mumbled.
"That's not very nice, Kallen!!" Lelouch commented, pouting, "So, do you want to drink some? It's really goood!" he offered, pointing at the bottle of champagne on the ground.
"No, thank you," said Kallen, giving the almost-empty bottle a look of distain.
"Why not? It makes you feel all happy inside!" Lelouch giggled again.
"No." Pulling up a chair, Kallen sat down, rested her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands. "I'll just sit here and make sure you're all right."
"Didn't you tell me to sleep? I can't sleep with you watching me!" Lelouch protested.
"Tough." Kallen had a sneaking suspicion Suzaku would try and return and she didn't want to make sure that happened.
"Seriously, Kallen, you don't need to stay. I'll be fine!" Lelouch tried to get Kallen out. Most of the reason was that he wanted her to switch places with Suzaku, but he couldn't let her know that.
An idea formed in Kallen's head. "Fine, fine." She stood and headed for the door. "I'll leave you alone now."
Lelouch suspected something was wrong: Kallen was giving up too easily. But, in his drunk state, he couldn't think beyond that, "Thanks, Kallen~ See you later!" He waved goodbye.
Kallen left the room, closed the door and planted herself in the hallway between Lelouch and Suzaku's rooms. No one would get by her.
