The primary reason why I do not use this thing much any more is essentially due to the overwhelming popularity of other internet social networks. Facebook primarily. The rise of social media has resulted in the enormously public outing of the stupidity of people today. I get sick of the text-speak and the "@blah" or "#whofuckingcares" crap that populates my friends' posts since they're cross-posting from twitter.

It doesn't really matter, though, since I've had to really censor myself since I got married and then had to friend the requisite new family, who are uber-religious (even though my husband isn't), just not in the annoying sense. I come here to keep up with people that still post (not many, but a couple good friends) and every once in awhile to unload things that I don't really want everyone to know. I feel safe here. The people that have me friended on LJ know me well enough to understand, and for that I'm grateful.

Anyway, I've just rambled a whole bunch of nonsense, but basically - Dude, it's been FOREVER! :)

Yes, it has. I can't promise I'll actually use this thing much, but I've got a lot of shit in my head lately and I'm trying to avoid going to therapy. I figure this might be a good idea to get some of the un-said things out.
