Hey, if the prompt wasn't needed, then it wasn't needed. This turned out quite well without it. ^_^

I like the train of Shikamaru's thoughts, and the silent intuitiveness between him and Chouji. That's one of the great things about the best-friends pairings. Also like Shika's personification of the sun/clouds and his sort of put-upon internal melodrama (the 'world' ending as his perceptions shift).

Also, you've inadvertently given me a setting/starting point for the NaruNeji you prompted me with. Must get that written just as soon as this paper I've got to write for school is off my plate.

If I wanted to post a link to this on the ShikaChou comm, would you mind? Or would you rather I didn't?

Have also not forgotten your beta for Wish. See strikeout above re: paper for school. It's doing to my free time what Godzilla does to Tokyo. Have barely been able to steal a moment for this.

I see your trouble. It's ok. School does technically come first. When is your semester over?

Ehh. It's a fast-paced career-track school that goes in ten-week 'quarters'. Current quarter ends June 12, which is when this paper is due. 'Course, next quarter starts right up again the Monday after, but I'll hopefully have a little more breathing room at that point.

One more week; then I can hopefully go back to reading for the pleasure of it instead of for the sake of regurgitating it in MLA format. -_-x

i start the story and the very first sentence hints at a dramatic battle and maybe deaths? well, to me it did. and then i read on and it's Shikamaru noticing Naruto and Neji and i almost fell off my chair laughing (though i think part of my reaction was my relief nobody was dying) :D
