I had a busy weekend. I went to the new Iwate International Center in the Aiina Building near Morioka Station to renew some books on Japanese religion and ended up going out for dinner with some JET ALTs. They were putting on an Easter program for children and I got to talking with them after it was over. I knew one from the speech contest in Iwaizumi last November and I'd seen one or two others around Morioka. I also met this Japanese girl who wants to meet American friends. It's a bit uncomfortable because I'm really not too interested in dating right now and I'm not sure if she just wants to be friends or wants something more. I can't really come out and be blunt about asking, though. Also, she said she suffers from clinical depression so I'm afraid of being too harsh with her and making it worse. She's e-mailed my cel-phone a lot so far, which is a little annoying, and maybe somewhat creepy. I'll deal with it somehow, I'm sure. The spring orientation for Earlham AETs in next week and I'm preparing a 15-minute on Japanese Religion. If I really want to continue studying Japanese religion in grad school, it'll be good practice. I just have to channel my inner Krebs. Maybe I should randomly hit a few people with a belt in order to demonstrate Zen. *whap* THREE POUNDS OF FLAX, BITCHES! Last week the third years went on their class trip to Tokyo, so I was the only one at the third year teacher desk complex and it was lonely. But they're all back now and it looks like I'm going to busy from now on, which is a good thing. I'm working with the first and third years now, neither of which I know very well. It's a shame that by the time I get to know them I'll have to leave for my next junior high school. Finally, Happy Easter or Passover to those of you on my friends list that celebrate it.
