adventures galore!

Wow, I've been terrible at updating this summer! I'm on my 'vacation' in Minnesota, currently. It's been a whirlwind of a time, I came in last Wednesday, had a photo shoot that evening, then a lovely visit from my friends Karen and Bob and their two little boys on Thursday. We went out on the river in their boat, pulled up to a beach and played in the sand and sun for a good long while. On Friday I left good and early to meet up with some high school friends and hitch a ride down to Galena, Illinois for my friend Windy's wedding. The parties I tagged along with were bridesmaids, so I hung with the wedding party all weekend. We had a yoga class led by a yoga-instructing bridesmaid on Saturday morning, then the ladies all got dolled up in style while I photographed their hair and makeup makeovers. Good fun. The wedding itself was fabulous, a gorgeous little outdoor location, lovely quick ceremony, and a nice reception. Sunday we had brunch, then the long drive back. I was then whisked away to a dinner party at my mom's BFF Michele's in honor of the visiting French family. Monday I had both a morning and afternoon photo shoot, then got to go see Fiona, who had arrived the night before from Idaho and was visiting her grandpa Rory. I left her there overnight, as I had to run back to Stillwater and then had a 7 am photo shoot clear over in Edina, which means I left at 6 am, but was done early and able to go back and pick Fi up when she was just starting breakfast, still in her pjs. So Fi and I came back up here yesterday, and when Maddie got home to watch Fi, I headed down to the river for 2 more photo shoots! It's been a crazy mad photo time, and I'm doing my best to keep up with it on my photo blog, so check that out: http://www.timestandstillphotography.blogspot.com

Fi is now painting a picture, and after breakfast she has plans to do a 'nature walk' outside. She walked all around the yard yesterday with a notebook, sketching flowers and looking for animals and ripe berries. She also raided the flower garden and cut some flowers for the table 'to surprise Maddie'. I think she loves being here as much as I do.
