hiya, people. i have an idea for Summer Theatre fundraising.
It's called Combat Theatre. the way it works is that at say, 8pm on a friday, everyone participating shows up at the school. They then separate into groups of like, 4/5 people. from 8pm friday to 8 am saturday, they write an original work. then, from 8am to 8pm they rehearse and such-- at 8pm, it goes up to the public. To prevent prewriting and cheating, the groups are given lines, characters, etc to put into their scritps when they arrive
entrance fees would be $10 for IHSers and $15 for allumni, with a percentage going to scotland so the powers at be will be more keen to the idea. We'd have simple sets, no costumes, etc. to eliminate overhead costs.
do it over xmas break, so people will be home.
Thoughts? Ideas? Yay, Nay? this only works with interest, and is not a long term time commitment.
