The Network is so loud today. I didn't expect such a rush, but I guess that's what happens when there's an accident in the streets. I tried to get some information out of the people at the cafe, but there wasn't much they could say. Typical. It's so much easier finding information in the Wired instead.

So tell me, NeoGenesis. What are your

Care to be a bit more specific in regards to your request, hm?

Anything you want to say. It's too quiet sometimes.

Tsk, are you honestly complaining? Pardon me, but that's rather silly of you. It's usually just redundant tripe and nothing else that comes up on the network whenever it sparks back into life. This silence isn't too bad when you put it in perspective.

I take it you spend most of your time outside.

Mmmm, not quite. I tend to stay in the shadows.

The shadows? You act like you're some sort of hidden anomaly.

I wouldn't say that. I'm nothing, really.

You act like you're something.

But alas, an act mustn't be mistaken for a state of reality, no matter how pleasant the lie may seem.

Hehe. You're like one of those word puzzle games. Hard to figure out.

More like a brain teaser. It's not that hard to see what lies within once you break through the shell of complexity that surrounds it.

But how long can you keep up that facade before it breaks? Or, how long will you stay strong before you, yourself, breaks?

Façade? It's not entirely as simple as that, but to play along with that line of thought: should it break, it's not like there'd be anything behind it for the spectators to witness.

Illusions never are simple. They're sort of like firewalls. When you break one of those, there's nothing left either for people to see.

You're not half-bad as far as picking metaphors goes, I'll give you that much.
