It's warm... Gaila could feel the world slowly drifting into focus, but even in her hazy, half-asleep state the memories of the night before were crystal clear. Her mind didn't work quite the same way as a human's; the continuum of memory was much clearer, sleep much less disorienting. Her lips curled into a smile as he tightened his arm around her and kissed her neck. "Adrian," she murmured, liking the way his name tasted on her lips. "Good morning."
"Very good," he agreed with a grin she could probably feel against her skin. He was aware that traditionally, the morning after was meant to be awkward. But, well...he'd never been much for tradition.
She laughed lightly at the feel of his lips against her skin. She had hoped that his laid back attitude would mean that there wouldn't be any awkwardness, but it was hard to be sure. It was a relief that he was still so relaxed, and it was awfully comfortable lying in his arms. "It is," she agreed. "A good morning proceeded by a good night."
"Preceded by an amazing night," he replied brightly. He was starting to wake up a little. He should probably make an effort to get up, or move or something, but he really didn't want to. He was warm and comfortable, and was going to stay right here until she kicked him out. Which he really hoped she wasn't going to do.
She couldn't help grinning widely at that, and even though he couldn't see it he could probably hear it in her voice. "Amazing," she agreed. "We'll definitely have to do that again sometime." It really was too comfortable for her to move much, but she turned her head a little to nuzzle his cheek.
"Sounds like a plan," he said, fingertips stroking lightly over her stomach. He was vaguely aware that he had to go on duty at...some point. It probably wasn't for a while, though. There would be plenty of time for getting up and moving around later.
She made a small noise of contentment as he stroked her stomach. The touches didn't feel like anything other than an enjoyment of each other's presence; it was lazy, comfortable, contented. "I like you, Adrian," she murmured. "I wish more humans were like you."
His breath on her neck sent a slight shiver down her spine, and she laughed lightly at the comment. "Ah, that's right... I was trying to determine if your ego was justified," she said teasingly.
"Very wise," Adrian agreed solemnly, not quite managing to hide how pleased he was at the suggestion that this would not be a one-time thing. He kissed her shoulder and gave a soft laugh. "I'll do my best to prove myself."
He sounded pleased by her suggestion, and she grinned, finally squirming and rolling over so that she was facing him. "I`m very glad to hear that," she purred, kissing his nose. "And for the record, I think the ego suits you, though I`ll let you know when I decide if it`s justified... but I`d say you`re doing pretty well so far."
There were probably things better than lazy morning-after kisses, but damned if he could think of any right now; he wrapped an arm more firmly around her waist and enjoyed the feel of her pressed against him. One hand at the back of her neck, he shifted down a little to nip lightly at her throat.
