Sickbay & Personal Quarters- Day 34 - [private/finished]
All fun and games were over now. Or almost over. It was the morning of the day before setting out on their next assignment. Leonard was glaring at Medical's duty assignments and scheduling. Trying to ignore the various aches left over from last night's drunken karaoke excesses. Lord, booze and song were really a bad combo for him. He pushed on, though. Had been wanting to make some changes for a while. Now that the new personnel were trained and broken in some, might as well take care of that before they launched. God knows they'd all be busy enough, soon enough.
One person he'd been impressed with so far was Reuben Tyler. The man was still adjusting to being a doctor, not a stuntman, but he'd shown some refreshing competence. Compared to one specific doctor under Leonard's close and careful watch, Tyler was a damn genius. So perhaps it was time to give the man some more leash. Let him be lead doctor of his own shift.
Let him deal with some of the personnel issues.
Leonard made the necessary changes. Couldn't suppress a board smirk as he next drafted up a PADD message to Tyler. This was gonna give Leonard more freedom to actually be a doctor again, instead of a babysitter. It was also gonna serve as a good test of Tyler's supervisory skills. The poor bastard.
Tyler, just passing on word to you that duties and scheduling have been changed. Official memo will go out later but I thought I'd give you a head's up. Congratulations, you have your own shift to lord over. I'm assigning you Gamma starting the day after tomorrow. Rotation days, time off and double days are still the same. Additionally, I've shifted some personnel. Anderson's now under your supervision. To balance things out, I'm also giving you Nurse Connors. Connors has demonstrated a lot of competence on Delta shift. I think you two will get along great. Enjoy the day off, see you tomorrow on Alpha, then it's 1600 hrs after that. McCoy
