It was quiet on the bridge for once. Between shifts was always a time that Tonia liked, especially when no one was shooting at them and everyone was in a good mood. Not that people weren't always not in a good mood but things could get stressful in a drop of a hat on the ship some days. While the stress usually caused more paperwork for her or any other Yeoman on the ship, Tonia didn't mind. It was job security at its finest. When the doors had closed for the last person for alpha shift the Yeoman had waited a few seconds before digging out her personal PADD and scrolling through her playlist. She had about ten minutes where it would just be her working over time before everyone else for beta would arrive.
Selecting the
song she wanted the woman smiled, already dancing a little where she stood at the first opening bars. 'I think it's time to blow this scene- get everybody and the stuff together. Okay. Three. Two. One. Let's jam.' she mouthed never once taking her eyes away from the screen infront of her. It might have been old music back on Earth but she liked it. That jazzy blues sort of music that made you want to get up and dance about.
Needless to say that was just exactly what the young Yeoman was doing. So focused on her work and the music she didn't hear the doors open early. So petrified that someone might catch her doing so that she didn't even think someone would come early- hardly anyone did.
The clearing of a throat caused her to freeze instantly in place. Music played for a few more seconds before her hand slowly stretched out and tapped the screen dead. No way she was turning about and seeing who had just caught her dancing so silly alone on the bridge. Nope. She didn't do it and hopefully the person would understand they didn't see it happen. But on the Enterprise that was a very, very rare chance.
