Medbay -- Day 13 (open to those who are sick, infected, injured ect. ect.)

Sep 27, 2009 00:14

Sammy had everything ready for Doctor McCoy but was still rushing around checking to make sure that everything was fine and dandy before she finally slowed her ass down to a stop and breathed for a second or five. She quickly thought over all the things that had to be done and mentally checked each one off until she knew that she had finished. Sam ( Read more... )

Kirk was en route to the medical bay, Spock beside him, the mask he'd been warned to wear quite obviously not on his face. Dr. McCoy was right -- if it hadn't affected him by now, it probably meant something.

More and more cases were appearing. It seemed like quite a few people were stalking their way to the sick bay, desperation on their faces, and Kirk tried to get a young ensign to walk with them that had been masturbating furiously in the hallway. This was insane. Kirk hailed McCoy quickly on his PADD, typing one message 'It's spreading somehow. We're on our way.'

Kirk sighed, trying to keep his wits about him. This was for lack of a better word, insane. "We've got to figure this out." He paced his way to the medical bay, hand dug deep in his pockets.

Spock had been thinking of a way to counter the pollen but with so little known about it and not having been able to study it in a scientific environment had placed him in the dark as well. Plus just about every time he’d started thinking about the subject another subject popped up in his head making it impossible to concentrate. “Captain,” Spock didn’t turn to address the man. “Once those infected are all taken to the Medical bay then Doctor McCoy and myself will be able to start research on the pollen and hopefully develop a cure.” The Vulcan stated and then turned to look at his Captain. With his former Captain heading in it put a new strain on the situation but there was not a way to make the cure within 48 hours and that was that.

Kirk admittedly was panicked that Pike was on his way in, wanting to prove that he could handle a situation of this magnitude. He was acting like a captain should, walking stoicly down the hallway, taking a sharp right turn to the turbolift and heading inside, pressing the button for the medical bay. "I hope so," He muttered, almost a little nervous to see the situation for himself. The spores were spreading quickly. "Do whatever you can. I want this isolated, and I want you both to work hard on figuring it out."

He looked straight ahead for a moment, looking back again. "Maybe there's something I can do? If I'm in no risk of being affected..."

“You may not be able to be infected Captain but there is little you could do in the lab,” Spock pointed out as he looked back at the Captain. It wasn’t that Spock didn’t need the help it was just he didn’t think the Captain would be capable of working with either Doctor McCoy or in the Science Lab. The other man had been Command Track for a reason just as Spock had been Science Track for a reason. “We will combat the infection to the best of our abilities sir,” the lift doors opened and Spock stepped out into the almost empty hallway.

"I'll have you know -- " He responded, already in arms about the idea of not being able to provide any worthwhile help. "Okay, I might have nearly flunked Xenobiology, but that was because it was boring. I get human biology just fine." He scowled despite himself, and tried to remind himself that he was going to get along with Spock, he needed to get along with the Vulcan. No matter how much the guy pissed him off sometimes.

Because really, he still got pissed off by the Vulcan's comments on occasion, no matter how logical they were.

"You better." He grumbled, and walked forward.

Any human would have rolled their eyes but Spock merely nodded and walked along side his Captain. The upset Captain would soon be too distracted to be upset once they reached medical bay. Spock braced himself for this as well once at the doors to the bay Spock looked over at the Captain. “After you Captain,” the Vulcan stepped aside to let his leader by.

"Such a gentleman." Kirk did roll his eyes in this instance, and wasn't prepared for the barrage of moans that attacked his ears. He heard a woman's wailing cry as she came, and glanced around with a confused look at the medical bay, looking around for Bones.

"This is insane," He muttered, and tried not to be distracted with what looked like two women behind a curtain, instead looking around for Bones.

Utterly shocked by the pandemonium ensuing, it's a wonder he heard the Sickbay doors open at all. Call it a conditioned response by this point. Or just plain dread. But Leonard looked over wondering what sort of crazies he was inheriting now.

Just Jim and Spock. That kinda crazy he was used to.

"Jim, watch it! Incoming!" he yelled as Freebird went flying towards them. And then -- no, because they couldn't get by that easily -- "And behind you!" as another couple of patients came in, one of them of a troubling skin tone. Something in purple.

Spock fallowed the Captain into sickbay just as the Freebird went after Kirk. The first officer went to help just as two other came after both of them. Spock dodged the incoming parties and pulled the Captain away as well. He quickly made his way over to Doctor McCoy so they wouldn’t be attacked again.

“Doctor,” a seldom nod was as far as Spock’s mind got before it changed tracks. His eyes scanned the doctor twice before his eyes settled on the man’s face. He wasn’t thinking about much anymore, not at finding a cure or his duty as first officer of the Enterprise…not his thoughts became blank again as he stared into McCoy’s eyes. The Vulcan didn’t give anything away in his outward expressions no he looked as calm and cool as normal. Maybe a little stiff but that could be because he had just walked into a sickbay full of people ready to mate with anyone.

Damnit! Freebird had almost flown the coop! "Someone stop him!" he yelled. Thankfully, the new arrivals blocked the crazed man. He collided right smack into Boudicca, and the security detail escorting them had a time of separating them. Of course, given how things were going, it was because those two had decided to make use of the tangle of their limbs ( ... )

Cassie stood and watched everything that was happening around her. Again it was assulting her senses. She struggled against the hand that was holding her and cried out. The sound that came from her this time was like that of a frightened animal. Her chest began to constrict and she began to panic.

With her breath coming in gasps she tried to cry out, "Help ... Help. Please .... I can't .... "

Spock watched the doctor leave and turned around to head to the station to set up some of the equipment. He looked up in concern for McCoy the man was having trouble with the patient so Spock stepped up. “Doctor do you require assistance?” he raised an eyebrow.

Well, talk about insanity.

He hadn't seen anything like this since that spring break on the coast. Then again, that had been alcohol and college, not spore induced fun.

Tony brought a bag full of sandwiches and other things to keep the scientists going to sick bay.

When the door opened he was amazed at how insane it had become. He grabbed a mask at the door an put it on.

He sauntered up to the doctor, "Hey Doc, quite the party you've got going here. What'd ya put in the booze?"

Cassie was getting out of hand even for a young pup like the security kid. Boudicca was almost too much to handle -- she took very enthusiastic exception to being interrupted -- for the detail crew. Leonard threw over his shoulder to Spock, "You take Grounded Flight here," and he pointed at the runner. He then turned to Cassie and took hold of her by the arms. Nodded to the kid holding onto her. "I got her. Isn't that right, Cassie? You'll behave for me, woncha girl?" After that confer with Sky, he has an idea for another treatment for her ( ... )

"Holy Shit," he rand over and grabbed the speculum in one hand, and put the girl in a headlock. "Alright missy, no raping poor innocent medical instrments with your skank."

He dragged her over to one of the biobeds and tossed her up there. He fumbled around for the restraint button. When she was in restraints, and someone had tied the other girl up, he came back to McCoy.

"So, having fun?"

Freebird went to escape again as Spock stepped away from his desk and went to apprehend the officer. It wasn’t easy and would have been much faster had he been able to use the Vulcan nerve pinch but he held back and instead took Freebird to a bed and restrained him. Spock came back to stand with the chef and the doctor. “Chief Petty Officer Corin,” the Vulcan inclined his head in greeting and looked at the dropped bag of food that now lay on the ground. Neither he nor McCoy had eaten since before the mission and need to say he needed to eat something. They both did.
