Still a film like THE DARK KNIGHT had a huge demand. I saw the midnight showing and again on a Saturday matinee. I know the number 1 climate does cause many films that don't perform right now to drop out-of-sight quickly and be termed a failure. Still one thing isn't accounted for- the sheer amount of films that keep getting released and so the the theaters push for the films that do the best with the audience.
