THE DARK KNIGHT is set to break box office records as it will probably make between $150 million to $200 million by Monday. It will be over the $300 million point by the end of next weekend. The midnight screenings I went to was packed (and the other two screens showing the film were too). It was madness, but everyone was eager to see a film better than the first one.
Over at Time, the writer doesn't get the appeal of people standing in line for midnight screeenings for the film:

THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR, WATCHMEN (a must-see), THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL (the special effects in the remake look impressive and the film will be huge on December 12th), QUANTUM OF SOLACE (the James Bond film that will be one of the two big films in November), BODY OF LIES (I like Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott, and DiCaprio doesn't impress me), and TERMINATOR: SALVATION (out next summer).
Back soon with my overdue review of the best film of the year (so far), THE DARK KNIGHT.
