Today I wonder...

Jan 12, 2009 17:09

So a couple days ago, I got into a discussion with my dad. (We often have these sort of "discussions" whenever we're driving. Yeah, my dad's weird.) Anyway, the topic today was *dramatic drumroll* gay marriage. It got me thinking again (I think too much), and I started to wonder what you guys would think.

Quick explanation: I'm a born and raised Roman Catholic straight girl who (to my mother's absolute horror) believes strongly in LGBT rights and gay marriage. My dad (I think he's a Protestant, but I'm not sure - he doesn't go to church much anyway) shares my views, but my mother and the rest of my strictly Catholic/Lutheran family does not agree one bit. It's kind of interesting to me, as the youngest person in the family besides me is 26, and the different viewpoints are usually quite intriguing to think about.

So (and somehow I have a feeling that this is a stupid question to ask), I'm wondering: What's your opinion on gay marriage? I'd like to hear what you think, no matter what side you're on or reasoning you have. Before you all start ranting at me :D, a couple things to point out: In the comments section, I'm nuetral. I won't force my views on you, I'm not going to argue with you (or likely even comment besides "Thanks for your opinion"), I'm not going to delete you or anything if you've got a different view than me, and if anybody starts a comment war, I'm going to delete the comments and you, no questions asked.

Just in case any of you were thinking of starting a nuclear war or anything. :D

So...comment, please? No nasty words allowed from here on out.

And by the way...CHECKERS!
