Well, I broke down and went to Chuck E Cheese's, and worked out an arrangement so that I work weekends in July and then will pull longer hours come August. Not exactly optimal, since A) weekends are pure pandemonium at Chuck's and B) my dad wanted me to get more hours, since this will pull in next to no money, but at least I won't be standing in the soup kitchen line anytime soon. And bonus, I'm allowed to wear Hawaiian shirts instead of the traditional dorky outfit, so I can finally air out those shirts I like to wear but don't for fear of being shunned in public. If you're over 18, you can come and visit me sometime- others will have to bring their mommies or daddies, heh.
Ran 7 miles yesterday, longer than I have in a while, and wow am I sore today. But bring on the mileage, punk, I'll be running to Nil's house (14 miles roundtrip, the longest I've ever done in a single run) before you know it. And I won't be down-and-out for two weeks after that run, like last year.
Ignore the reviews!
Old School was really funny! I have yet to watch
Animal House (which may be considered the Cardinal Sin in some religions), but this was definately one of the better and more original (and only?) "teen gross-out" movies I've seen, probably because it really doesn't fall into that category.
In order to make my links compilations more readable, I'm going to try bulleted lists. If you have strong protests, speak now or forever hold you peace.
- The new
world's tallest building, the Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan. Hoo boy, that's tall. It's more than one and a quarter laps around the track, except, straight up.
- The juicy bits of
My Life by Bill Clinton, so you don't have to slog through the whole thing (sorry, I could only get a highlighted Google-cached version, for some reason the site pulled the article). That was the long summary, but if you just want to hear the Lewinsky stuff, read the
super duper small version.
-
Random picture alert. Oh, and
pirates, too!
- You'll be surprised to learn that as a boy, Fidel Castro
wrote to FDR and asked for $10.
- A very strange site of people's
computer mascots, set to funky music. (Click on entrar, all you non-Espanol folk). I must confess, years ago I had little figurines of
Boba Fett and the
Kool-Aid Man on top of my comp...
This just in: I wish I could see Nil more. Damn job. That is all.
