country music
i realize that i live near nashville, but seriously. can we stop with the country music?
it's okay for about an hour or so- which, by the way, is a great improvement over the length of time i used to be able to tolerate it- but then it just gets downright annoying. i'm tired of hearing about your dog running away, how you're still crying yourself to sleep over your high school crush (because you graduated high school 20 years ago), and how you want to oochie coochie honky-tonk that girl from the redneck bar you went to last night.
i post this rant because a coworker is always listening to music over the speakers. i have no problem with people listening to music, but bring some headphones. in the past, i have loudly proclaimed that when i want to listen to music, i bring my ipod and put one headphone in. that way, i can still hear if people need me, but i'm not annoying everyone else by making them listen to my music. keep in mind, this particular coworker has not one, not two, but THREE ipods.
apparently, the hint was not taken. so here i am, listening to country for the zillionth day in a row and i really want to introduce some Weakerthans, maybe some Apocalyptica, perhaps even Mighty Mighty Bosstones to break out of this gray-walled prison of boredom.
