This time, when they arrived at the gate, they were not alone. Distantly visible were the glimmerings of other craft. Some where the elaborately jeweled and bronzed structures of Fay'lia craft (not to worry though: the Fay'lia merchants had pressured the legions to maintain a zone of official neutrality for two century* around the universal gate). Others were civilian craft, long, utiliarian spheres. Some broadcasted the latest holodramas, historical fantasies, magifictitious epics, etc. in tightbeam broadcasts, accesible for a modest fee. Among those was the station's own rather amateurish project, Freedom Deliverer Robin, already immensely popular.
The Skirineen quickly detached his little merchant vessel, flitting between the waiting ships, making an immense profit.
They were all waiting for the second year of Junction to begin, the greatest storyteller's and fantasist's convention. The universal gate was only a few kilometers wide and could only admit one or two vessels at a time. So it would be some time before they got through...
While they waited, in Serenity lounge, the first episode of Freedom Deliverer Robin was being broadcast.** Crowds had gathered, cheering at the good parts, the behind the scenes staff excitedly pointing out the parts they had worked on.
In the station's storage areas, hastily manufactured merchandise sat in boxes.
As they approached the gate, those sensitive to mystical and psychic disturbances might have been able to feel something strange happening, a slight disturbance in The Force. Something was trying to rewrite the future...
In the desert habitat, the worms roared at the disturbance.

We cut away to a dingy underground base. A rebel (you can tell by the fact that he is a
rummage sale reject, with goggles, is examining a holo display showing Robin at her desk. Cut again to a cold, official looking office, where an elegant looking young man (played by Cain) is examining the same holo display.
Rebel: Hey guys! Look at this, I think she might be...
Elegant Young Man's thoughts: It is possible she might be...
Both: The one we're seeking.
We then cut to the credits.
