::speaks briefly to nightshift crewmen upon entering, making way slowly toward warp core::
::clears throat, smiling in faint amusement::
Thanks to that beauty you're looking at, our normal cruising speed is a good warp factor and a half higher than you're used to...our maximum speed is warp nine.
We also use deuterium and antideuterium for gas instead of positrons and electrons.
Of course, I'm sure you've already read up on all that, if you figured out our data system.
I"m Ensign Stephen Tanner, Enterprise...NX01 version, that is. Commander Tucker is around here somewhere. *looks around the curve of engineering, can't immediately spot him* Probably flirting with your engineers or perhaps the engines themselves
*shakes with Paris*
And as beautiful and fucking fast - wonder what she's like to drive as your ship is, we'd like to start working on figuring out a way home.
::turns gaze across room, finding Tucker before returning attention to Tanner::
Lieutenant Commander Tom Paris...apparently first officer of this dinghy.
Our Operations officer...Lieutenant Kim, Linnis' husband, not sure you met him...is working on a few ideas, but you're welcome to begin your own experimentations. Voyager is at your disposal...we'll get you home.
but you're welcome to begin your own experimentations. Voyager is at your disposal...
Thankyou Commander. We appreciate your hospitality. *glances over a Trip* As it is, we have a few ideas we'd like to start working on. Perhaps Lieutenant Kim could meet with us at his convinence to discuss details?
*tries not to smile too tellingly*
Two engineers on a starship 200 years more advanced - kids, meet toyshop
Of course, I'll see that he gets the message. In the meantime, feel free to explore. I don't think temporal interference laws mean much between our two ships at this point.
::hands over over two comm badges::
Communication simplified. Tap once and state the name of the person you want. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I believe you can find your way around.
::chuckles slightly, eyes wandering deck again::
Just be gentle with those engines. There might be a Klingon spirit guarding them.
We have the run of the ship, and pretty much carte blanche to do whatever we need to to get back home. *grins* I don't think he realized what we can do with that kind of authority.
These are like shipboard communicators. *quickly repeats Paris' instructions*
Anyway, he's gonna set up a meeting with a Lieutenant Kim - he seems to be the guy with the answers as to how we arrived here.
*looks at the two engineers who Trip was chatting to*
*looks at the little badge Tanner hands him, turning it over in his hand*
Wonder if I could take it apart and put it back together so that it still works....
*barely hears what else Tanner says*
*looks up at him*
Hmm? What?
Oh, nothing much, just the basics on how they work their engines. Can't do much with the info, since we don't have a reliable means of mining and processing the proper ores, much less a steady supply of ore veins.
*beat*
We really have carte blanche?
How cool.
*pins badge on*
I say we go raid their storage bays, then contact that Kim guy.
*opens up their inventory lists, scanning the basic component groupings, getting a feel for what they have and where it all is, going through the lists at a decent clip*
*gets an idea of where they need to go*
*closes the search windows*
*stands up, heading towards the door*
Come on, Stephen. Time to have fun rummaging around in storage bins.
::sounds chime, waiting a few minutes::
Probably got bored and went exploring....Christ, I hope they avoided Vorik and Seven...
::chimes again, finally querying computer for location of two Enterprise personnel::
::heads for Main Engineering::

Close your damn mouth, you probably look like some sort of hick
*moves closer slightly*
*can hear Trip turning the charm on two female engineers they found working nightshift*
*wonders how crowded this place could get*
*realizes they may yet have a chance*

*sees a somewhat familiar face walk towards him*
Linnis'...father, i think?
*nods*
Its...amazing. And beautiful too.
*turns fully back to Paris*
*holds out hand*

Thankyou sir. We'll be gentle.

*charmed them quite well*
*turns as hears Tanner walk up behind him*
Excuse me, ladies.
*they move off, giggling a little to themselves*
So? What's going on?

*nods towards the main control terminal*
Apparently we can access pretty much anything from these terminals. Wanna give it a try?

Lead on, Macduff!
*Follows Trip into the corridor*
You know, hearing about all the Captain's adventures in time travel, I always wondered what it would be like.
I never dreamt it would involve a scavenger hunt
Reply
Time travel is not all it's cracked up to be. Neither is universe hopping. And I think we've done both.
And scavenger hunts are fun. Just think, we get to play with whatever advanced tech we want for whatever reason we want.
*looks at Tanner*
Just think of how much trouble we can cause. But in a good way, of course. *winks*
Reply
Just as long as you don't break out into a chorus of "Hi Ho," sir. Otherwise, I will have to hurt you.
*looks at door labels*
Here we go!
