A message for Bones

Dec 06, 2009 23:41

Meira paced in her room. It was empty - both Pasha and Nova were on-duty.

Step, step, step, step, step, turn. Step, step, step, step, step, turn.

The twinge in her stomach hadn't gone away. In fact, now it had grown - she felt as if her entire abdominal cavity was empty and something was clawing at her chest from the inside.

Step, step, step, step, step, turn. Step, step, step, step, step, turn.

She groaned. Whoever said crime was fun needed to be shot. She had never felt so damn guilty in her life, not even when she had forgotten to feed her friend's hamster while he was away and it died.

Step, step, step, step, step, turn. Step, step, step, step, step, turn.

And yet, waiting made it worse. It felt like she would melt into the floor if she didn't own up.

Step, step, step, step, step, turn. Step, step, step, step, step, turn.

But nothing bad had come of it. As far as she'd heard, Emma was fine.

Step, step, step, step, step, turn. Step, step, step, step, step, turn.

Still...

Step, step, step, step, step, turn. Step, step, step, step-

She stopped. She was going insane. Sighing, she walked to her desk and picked up her PADD.
