Haraken: A d-duel?
Daichi: That's right! So where's Fumie?
Yasako: She's not here yet.
Daichi: Then I'll wait for her.
Yasako: It's going to be boring if we just stand here like this.
Yasako: Let's buy some ramune.
Daichi: Oh, great idea!
Daichi: What the hell are you doing, you brat?!
Yasako: I've told you not to get close to strangers, haven't I?
Daichi: That's not what you should be scolding her for!
Fumie: Sorry to keep you waiting!
Daichi: So you finally came out from under your rock, you damn...
Fumie: I'm late. I--
Fumie: Daichi! What are you doing here?
Daichi: I'm on the town committee...
Fumie: Oh, now I remember.
Fumie: Hey, why are you all wet?
Fumie: Did you just...?
Yasako: I think Daichi has something to tell you.
Fumie: So what nastiness are you planning to spoil my day?
Daichi: D-Do you wanna play soccer with me?
Daichi: That's not right...
Daichi: D-Do you wanna catch crayfish with me?
Daichi: No, that's not it...
Daichi: Oh, I know!
Daichi: Would you come with me to the summer festival?
Daichi: Would...
Fumie: Huh?
Daichi: Would you come to a duel with me?

I decided to picspam this very scene because it is one of my favourite scenes from Dennou Coil. The scene already starts wonderfully. The way Daichi acts all tough at first but looses up so quickly shows that he really isn't a bad guy. He's just a guy. :P I also love the way Kyoko teases Daichi for the first but definitely not the last time here. I bet she has a teeny tiny crush on him.
But the moment Fumie enters and the way Daichi reacts is the best part. I just love his expression and the fact that he's utterly mind-blown and speechless and just freezes like he isn't aware of anything else but her. The blush is so adorable. Yes, just a few minutes prior the same happened between Haraken and Yasako but I just didn't feel the spark and magic like I did with Daichi and Fumie. Lastly the flashback is askljzhdoz cute. Chibi!Daichi being all nervous with his nose running is just awwww. :3
Daichi really cares about Fumie and she is clueless about it even though it's obvious she cares about him too. This scene is the first true scene that shows this which makes me love it even more. Because Daichi and Fumie are great together.
