Things here have been busy lately, like... really busy.
I have a job now! It's not much, but it's something that brins in money and that's important these days. I don't actually mind the job either. The people are good people, and I can leave all my stuff at the door when I leave in the afternoon and not have to take it home with me. Which is awesome in my book. :-)
Blaze and I are starting to house hunt; we really need a bigger space. I've been here 3 months now, and everything is still pretty smooth sailing. There are moments when I want to strangle his brother, but other than that, everything is lovely. (Though, I do have my teary-eyed moments of missing my dear friends Susan, Tab, and Virginia. You just can't find girlfriends like them just anywhere.)
Last weekend I went to a party that I organized for a local writer, so I got to be around actual girls... and breath actual estrogen infused air. It was fabulous. We had homemade lasagna, and bread... and we even made homemade ricotta cheese. ...I got to hold a baby goat and feed it animal cracker cookies!!!!! ... I'm 100% convinced that we need a goat now at some point. Complete with waddles. The trip was amazing too. We drove down exciting rough terrain in my little car, and on the way home we tried a new way... and Blaze drove across a rock-bedded river in my car to get to the road. Yes, we forded the river to get to our destination. (It was way back in the hills.) It was very exciting.
There is talk of more get-togethers in the future, maybe for some crafty stuff. Which is awesome, I can just see the Craft Club... Maaaaarthhhaa... (*gangs signs to Ginneh*) starting a West Virginia branch!
This weekend is packed as well. Blaze and I are off after work to Columbus, Ohio, for the Mid-Ohio Con. There will be geekery abounding this weekend, OYES. We'll drive back sometime Sunday. I wish we had tim to drive now to the 'Nati and see my 'Coats, but we'll be short on time, and likely money by Sunday. But SOON. I promise. I miss you guys, and it's been forever.
Next weekend is topped off too. We've got the Black Walnut Festival back in Blaze's hometown, and then a possible Ghost Tour of Parkersburg next Saturday night.
