Every morning when I go to work, if I'm not asleep or absorbed in conversation, I watch the people around me.

You and verin_the_brown have a similar body type and frame, so I can see how it would work!

Which club did you go out to?

We went to Axis. apparently, now on Sat nights, they have some sort of "old-school" night. they played mostly dance type music from the 70's and 80's. We found out that if you get an FNX card (free online) you can get into this club for free before 11pm.

B and I love to dance, and were able to practice west coast swing to a lot of the music. It was fun, and we plan to go again, when we have a free Sat pm. The biggest problem is finding parking in the area, but if you go earlier, there's more parking, since I guess it's not cool to go clubbing before 11. Oh well. We'll be dorks, but get the best parking and save cash.

Low rise jeans can do wonders for a woman's figure. But it's all about wearing them properly for your body type. Even if you are in perfect shape, if you wear super low, super tight ones, they will grip around the lower hip/butt area, causing the flesh to be pushed up the top. then, it looks like you have rolls of flab on your waist or hips, when in reality, you are merely redistributing your butt. Ok, I am aware of this effect. I prefer those that fall just above the hips, where the waist starts to narrow. Then, since the pants are going around a region that's larger in circumference than what's just above, there isn't any bulging of flab, even if they're a bit tight. It's a miracle or engineering. The only ones I have that are any lower are stretchy, so they don't make stuff bulge, and they still hit somewhere above the butt, so you don't end up looking like an egg that's undergone two cell divisions ( ... )

hahahaha! an egg that's undergone two cell divisions! I like that.:)

Yep, it's all about shopping around to find the ones that fit best.

enochs_fable tells me you and I have similar body types---where do you find jeans? I am very short and petite, but Old Navy now makes short length, so I can go there. So does new york and co. which sometimes has pants for me.

I just had to get a bridesmaid dress altered--David's Bridal caters to Amazons.

Same here. With the wonders of short length jeans (aka 'ankle length', 'short' being such an offensive word), I don't have any trouble finding a good fit. But then I'm a normal size 2 apart from length. So, being neither fashonable nor socially conscious, I usually just go to the Gap, or Old Navy. Last time I went to the Levi's store.

Did you just need it hemmed, or something more?

I have a much easier time with pants, especially low rise, than I do with dresses, or even shirts. The lengths in clothing from shoulders to bust and from bust to waist are usually not quite right. All my sports bras and many tank tops end up being low cut, which was not what I was trying for.
